Schneider Electric Apple Home Thermostat: Price & Features
Schneider Electric joins the Apple Home Collection
Schneider Electric has announced a Smart Thermostat co-developed with Apple for the Apple Home Collection, alongside a Room Sensor and a trio of Power Mount accessories for the wall-mounted Apple HomeView. The lineup combines Schneider Electric’s long-standing expertise in home energy management with Apple’s connected-home ecosystem, and it is one of the first waves of partner hardware for Apple’s new smart home push.
The products were detailed in a Schneider Electric announcement and in Apple’s official Apple Home Collection pricing, with the thermostat and room sensor set to launch in the United States and Canada in early 2027.
Smart Thermostat: price, availability, and colors
The Schneider Home Smart Thermostat starts at $199.95 in the U.S., according to Apple’s announced pricing, while Schneider Electric lists a suggested MSRP of $199.99. It will be offered in a Silver + White finish in the U.S. and Canada, and sold through the Apple Store online, the Apple Store app, and Apple Store locations starting in early 2027.
That puts it squarely in the middle of the competitive smart thermostat market: ecobee’s smart thermostats cost between $139.99 and $259.99, while Google Nest thermostats range from $99 to $280. It also means Apple Store shoppers will have two $199.95 thermostat options, since LG’s own Smart Thermostat for the Apple Home Collection starts at the same price.
No separate app required
The thermostat works entirely through the Apple Home app, with no separate manufacturer app or account required. Temperature can be adjusted with Siri voice commands, and setup begins with an NFC tap: bringing an iPhone close to the thermostat starts pairing even before the unit is powered.
Connectivity is built on Matter and Thread. Thread keeps the thermostat connected to the home network even during an internet outage, so automations and schedules don’t go dark when the broadband does. Data in the Home app is end-to-end encrypted.
Adaptive Temperature and Clean Energy Guidance
The distinguishing software feature is Apple’s Adaptive Temperature. Instead of requiring users to program a schedule manually, it uses the intelligence of the owner’s iPhone to adjust heating and cooling based on whether they are home, away, or settling down for the night.
There is also an energy-bill angle. Apple’s Clean Energy Guidance feature can shift heating and cooling to cleaner, lower-cost periods for customers with compatible utility plans in the contiguous United States. The Home app displays energy-use insights along with peak and off-peak rate information. Note that Apple’s EnergyKit, which powers this kind of functionality, requires iOS 26 or iPadOS 26 or later and is currently only available in the contiguous U.S.
Room Sensor: $39.95
The Schneider Home Room Sensor starts at $39.95 in the U.S. ($39.99 suggested by Schneider), in White, also for the U.S. and Canada with an early-2027 launch. The optional sensors measure temperature and humidity in different rooms, letting the thermostat balance comfort more precisely than a single wall unit could on its own.
Apple’s thermostats can also draw on sensors built into HomeView, HomePod, and HomePod mini, so owners who already have Apple’s speakers or the new smart display may need fewer dedicated room sensors than they expect.
Power Mounts for the wall-mounted HomeView
Alongside the thermostat, Schneider Electric detailed three Power Mount options for the newly introduced Apple HomeView in its wall-mounted configuration:
- USB-C Wall Connector — suggested MSRP of $59.99
- AC Wired Power Mount — suggested MSRP of $79.99
- PoE Wired Power Mount — suggested MSRP of $129.99
Customers in the U.S., Canada, Australia, India, New Zealand, Singapore, South Africa, and the U.K. can order the USB-C Wall Connector and AC Wired mounts on Apple.com, with availability in Apple Retail Stores beginning Friday, November 13. The PoE Wired mount follows in early next year, while the AC Wired version is coming later to India.
Installation accessories and professional setup
Thermostat installation accessories are sold separately at Apple Stores and in the Apple Store app: the Schneider Home Trim Plate starts at $14.95 and the Schneider Home C-Wire Power Adapter starts at $24.95 (LG’s equivalent C-Wire adapter is $24.95).
For customers who would rather not wire things themselves, Apple Retail is now offering third-party installation from ADT for an additional charge in the U.S. starting this fall — a notable move that puts smart-home pro installation inside the Apple Store for the first time.
Background: the Apple Home Collection strategy
The Schneider Electric products are part of the Apple Home Collection, the new lineup of smart home accessories Apple unveiled on October 13, 2026, developed in partnership with LG Electronics and Schneider Electric. The collection spans security cameras, a video doorbell, a smart deadbolt, thermostats, and sensors, all managed through the Apple Home app with Siri voice control and end-to-end encryption.
The broader collection begins arriving in December 2026 through Apple’s online store, the Apple Store app, and retail locations, with select accessories following in early 2027. Cameras will be sold in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., while locks, thermostats, and sensors are U.S.- and Canada-only at launch.
Apple’s approach here is a departure: rather than building every accessory itself, it is co-developing with established manufacturers and selling the result as a coordinated, Apple Store-curated lineup. Schneider Electric, which has spent years in electrical distribution and energy management, brings credibility on the climate and energy side that Apple would struggle to build from scratch.
What this means for smart home buyers
For Apple Home households, the Schneider Home Smart Thermostat is shaping up as the energy-management flagship of the collection — Thread-based local control, no extra apps, Adaptive Temperature that learns from iPhone presence, and Clean Energy Guidance for U.S. utility customers who can shift usage to cheaper, cleaner hours.
The early-2027 timeline means buyers will wait a few months, but the pricing is competitive with ecobee and Nest flagships, and the November 13 arrival of the Power Mounts gives wall-mounted HomeView owners an immediate accessory to buy. As always with the Apple Home Collection, the fine print matters: check regional availability, and camera buyers should note the iCloud+ requirement for recording history.
